St Mary's Fall & Stove Mountain, Colorado Springs
St Mary Falls & Cookstove Mountain (66 images)
This was a fantastic trip up to St Marys Falls and onward to Coookstove , or Stove Mountain. The trail's destination is the falls - hence St. Mary's Falls Trail. The trail goes through a forest of pines and spruce and follows the creek. Take Cheyenne Canyon Road through the canyon to the trailhead above Helen Hunt Falls. Take Gold Camp Road from the trailhead by the closed section of the road and go one mile to the trail on the right. From the parking area, it is 1.2 miles to the tunnel, then about .25 miles to the trailhead. From the St. Mary's falls, it is about 1.6 miles to the bottom of the falls, and 2 miles to the top of the falls. Now, at the top, you can take the many many switchbacks and head to Stove Mountain or Rosa. We stopped at Stove.
Stove Mountain is a mountain summit in El Paso County in the state of Colorado (CO). Stove Mountain climbs to 9,790 feet (2,983.99 meters) above sea level. Stove Mountain is located at latitude - longitude coordinates (also called lat - long coordinates or GPS coordinates) of N 38.7661 and W -104.920529. We went the 6 mile round trip path to St Mary Falls top but we got on some switchbacks that went up to Cookstove Mountain. We have zero idea how long this hike was. I would say that it was around 8-9 miles.
