The Lamson Adventures!!!!
Cheyenne Mountain State Park, Colorado

Cheyenne Mountain State Park is open!! Yippee. Colorado Springs bought this land in 2000 and now it is open for day use. That means, it is opens at 7am and closes at 10pm. The park has 16 trails that total just over 20 miles. It is located on Rt 115 in Colorado Springs, or on East gate of Fort Carson. If you go through the main gate on the powers side, you can go over to 115 and drive right up to it.

All the photos are at the trail head. We have not taken any of the trail shots. As you can see from the cliff shots, it is located right under the Cheyenne Mountain DOD Facility. It cost us $5 to go into the park for the day. If you have the $55 state park pass, it is free to enter. The parking lot is pretty big. It was empty when we arrived but as you can see, there is room for everyone.

The views from the top over look incredible scenary. Unlike other parks though, there are no horses or dogs allowed. Enjoy your hike.
